Free COVID-19 insurance plan to pregnant and new mothers
Banepa municipality of Kavrepalanchowk district is supplying free COVID-19 insurance to pregnant and new moms in view of heightened chance of coronavirus transmission.
The municipality has initiated the marketing campaign as part of the ‘Women with Deputy Mayor Programme’. Deputy Mayor Rekha Dahal Sapkota launched the marketing campaign after signing a memorandum of understanding with an insurance plan organisation amidst a programme on Wednesday.
“Insurance has brought enthusiasm among women reeling below health risk. It will also enhance the confidence of women with vulnerable financial condition”, she said. At the onset of the campaign, deputy mayor Sapkota exceeded over COVID-19 insurance paper to 51 women having fitness and financial vulnerability.
According to her, pregnant women and a 45-day moms of the municipality would be included in the insurance plan scheme. She shared as many as 400 susceptible women of the municipality would be insured as phase of the campaign.
Total 235 pregnant and one hundred sixty five new mothers, recognized so some distance in 14 wards of the municipality, would be included in the first phase of insurance, she added.
Mayor Laxmi Narsingh Badhe stated the free insurance plan to pregnant and new mothers has been put in area in the existing context when COVID-19 transmission is gaining ground of late.
Earlier, Panchkhal municipality-4 ward chair Sundar Lama had initiated a manner to furnish free COVID-19 insurance plan carrier to single women. He stated a whole of 128 recognized single women of his ward would advantage from the scheme.
